CONGRESSWOMAN SHEILA JACKSON LEE TO HOLD PRESS CONFERENCE TO PROVIDE AN UPDATE ON THE CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC
HOUSTON, TX – Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, Chair of the Congressional Coronavirus Task Force will host a press conference to provide an update on the Coronavirus pandemic for the Houston community and surrounding areas. The Congressional Coronavirus Task Force, Chaired by Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX18) and Co-Chaired by Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA01) and Congressman Raul Ruiz, MD (D-CA36), was formed to marshal the collective experience and expertise of Members of Congress and Congressional Committees to produce an action plan for the current crisis and to provide input into health policy and legislative efforts that will create a new construct for dealing with future health crisis. It will also be a vehicle for receiving and disseminating information on a regular basis to the entire Congress and the general public, to advocate for needed resources, and to encourage the Administration to act promptly on all matters related to combating the coronavirus.
