CONGRESSWOMAN SHEILA JACKSON LEE STATEMENT ON ATTACK IN JAKARTA

Washington, DC – Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, a Senior Member of the House Homeland Security Committee, released the following statement regarding the recent deadly blasts and shootout in Indonesia capital of Jakarta today:

“The United States condemns in the strongest terms the terrorist attack today in Jakarta, Indonesia that killed and wounded several--including law enforcement officers. My thoughts and prayers are with the families and friends of the victims of this heinous attack.

“The United States is strongly committed to our strategic partnership with Indonesia and will stand by the Government of Indonesia as it works to bring those responsible for this barbaric terrorist attack to justice and build a more secure future.”
